I have always enjoyed solving puzzles, and remember as a child being fascinated with not only solving but creating my own mazes. I enjoyed visually tracing the set of curves and lines back down to the its most elemental beginnings. My current affair with chainmaille and wire jewelry is rooted in this fascination: of how a simple line or shape as a circle, with nothing more than repetition or a change in size or twist in a different direction, can form a seemingly endless array of textures and patterns. I am inspired by all art/craft forms that utilize the beauty of line and pattern: the geometry of Moorish tiles, the calligraphic flow of illuminated manuscripts, the delicate spiderwebs of crochet lace, even the loop-de-loops from a Spirograph. What may be dismissed as merely decorative by others is for me rich in contemplation, and speaks to an innate search for order and rhythm. I hope my collection will inspire you and make you feel beautiful.
